At the 2014 New York Auto Show, Chevrolet has officially unveiled the
2015 Chevrolet Cruze. The new exterior styling cues are inspired by the
all-new Impala and restyled 2014 Chevrolet Malibu as it adopts a new
front bumper, a "dual-port" grille and LED daytime running lights (on LT
and LTZ variants). The model also has revised taillights and an updated
color palette, while more intuitive controls update the interior. New
voice-controlled features enhance safety when responding to text
messages in the vehicle.
Interior changes are limited but include revised switch gear and
improved cupholders which "make it easier to insert and remove cups."
The model also gains Siri Eyes Free technology and a Text Message Alert
system which can read text messages aloud. Other notable highlights
include
a seven-inch color touchscreen display, OnStar 4G LTE connectivity and
an optional GPS navigation system.
2015 Chevrolet Cruze declined to mention any powertrain changes, so engine options will likely include:
- A 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol with 138 bhp (103 kW) and 125 lb-ft (169 Nm) of torque
- A turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder petrol with 138 bhp (103 kW) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque
- A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel with 151 bhp (112 kW) and 264 lb-ft (357 Nm) of torque
The 2015 Chevrolet Cruze will go on sale this fall and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
