The Shanghai Motor Show will mark three giant steps in Maserati’s march towards its goal of 50,000 cars a year. The Maserati momentum that began late last year with the all-new V8 and V6 Quattroporte continues in Shanghai with the all-new Ghibli – the first-ever mid-size four-door luxury sports saloon in Maserati’s history. Both the Quattroporte and the Ghibli saloons will each boast two different power outputs from their turbo-charged V6 petrol engines.

At the 2014 New York Auto Show, Land Rover has fully revealed the Discovery Vision Concept. Land Rover is providing a glimpse of the Discovery future with the Vision Concept which looks a lot different than the current Discovery 4 (LR4). It features considerably shorter overhangs and has a sportier profile making the model look less rugged than its predecessors. Gone is the split tailgate as this was replaced by a single tailgate which if opened will allow a platform to slide out from the load area's base within the rear bumper to create a "social seat."

At the 2014 Beijing International Automobile Exhibition, Audi has unveiled the combining the sportiness of a coupe with the lifestyle and utility of a compact SUV the Audi TT Offroad Concept. Audi already dropped a few hints about expanding the third-gen TT family lineup and it seems one of the potential candidates is a crossover. The concept is described as blending the "sportiness of a coupe with the lifestyle and utility of a compact SUV" but as far as styling is concerned it looks basically like the new TT on high heels.

At the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, Volkswagen is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Golf by introducing the Golf Edition concept. Despite looking fairly ordinary, the concept features a bespoke Magic Morning exterior that has a "striking golden shimmer depending on the angle of vision." At the 2014 New York Auto Show, Volkswagen is gearing up to introduce the Golf Sportwagen. The concept previews the all-new Golf SportWagen that goes on sale in early 2015. Based on the new MQB (modular transverse matrix) architecture, the Golf SportWagen will continue the trend introduced by the seventh generation Golf whereby it is lighter, bigger, roomier, more fuel efficient and more powerful than the outgoing SportWagen model.
